London born photographer based in Tokyo Specialising in Luxury Fashion and Product Photography.
Working professionally for more than 8 years, with firm experience in Fashion and Product Photography, Lawrence enjoys challenges adventures and going out of his comfort zone. Known to adapt easily and come up with quick, often novel solutions, He is just at home in a fully equipped studio, or on the side of a mountain.
With a tendency to pick the path less traveled and driven by curiosity he followed creative subjects at school and college. Art, Graphic Design, Product Design, and Science. He developed a creative and technical ability, finally finding his satisfaction in photography as a marriage of creation, observation and technicality.
Lawrence's early Career found himself in Portrait Studio and later his own Studio, as photographer and retoucher, whilst it my seem to lack the prestige and glamour some may expect, this experience taught him as well as camera and studio skills, about business, sales, efficiency and most importantly people skills.
After 3 years he changed direction towards the fashion and worked for the well known Luxury online Fashion network Net-a-Porter Group, It was here he developed his understanding of the fashion industry and fashion photography. The company was rapidly expanding, Lawrence thrived with market leading creative people the increasing budget and the latest equipment. Lawrence took charge of the updating and maintaing the studios equipment, mentoring junior photographers and with experience in retouching and smaller studios sought harmony between other parts of the company. After 2 years, Lawrence developed a good reputation among his colleagues, and driven by the need to move forward decided to become a freelance fashion photographer.
Initially working with similar big brands, fashion stores and large studios, he also soon opened a studio in Camden town, where he worked with less well known labels and creative agencies offering them high end imagery with a more flexible and personal approach than a big production might offer. After 3 years in In his London Studio Lawrence decide immigrated to Tokyo Japan.
2016 Lawrence starts his life in japan as a result of a growing desire to travel and experience.
